How does Paloma work?
Paloma Health is an end-to-end solution to manage your hypothyroidism. The first step is to use a Paloma Health At-Home Test Kit to obtain recent thyroid lab results and schedule a live video visit with one of our providers. If you have thyroid lab results that are less than 4 months old, you are welcome to upload those labs and use them for your first visit.
Once you have recent labs, your provider and dedicated care manager will work as a team to coordinate your care, help you identify the right treatment plan, and get you feeling your best.
Do I need to use the At-Home Test Kit? Can you send orders to a lab in my area?
Paloma operates like a regular doctor's office and our providers can send labs to both LabCorp and Quest, no worries at all. We are integrated with both Quest and LabCorp so you can simply add your preferred lab location in your Paloma portal. If you need new thyroid labs in advance of your first visit with a Paloma provider, please email care@palomahealth.com and we will do our best to accommodate you.
How long are the live video visits?
Your first visit with your Paloma provider is 30 minutes. Follow-up visits are 15 minutes.
How often do I need to see my provider?
Frequency of visits is dependent on how stable your thyroid function, medication dosage, and symptoms are.
If you would like to adjust your treatment or dosage, we recommend testing your thyroid panel in about 6-8 weeks and then following up with your provider to review. If you're stable and the provider expresses that you can follow up in the next year, you're always welcome to schedule a visit before then if you'd like.
What if my provider prescribes medication? How will this be sent?
Any thyroid medications that are prescribed by your Paloma provider are sent electronically to your pharmacy on file immediately after your visit.
